X-Ray Center is seeking a Strategic Procurement Engineer to optimize our sourcing strategy for the development and manufacturing of cutting-edge x-ray security scanners. This role is pivotal in ensuring we maintain the highest quality standards while achieving cost-efficiency in our components and materials sourcing.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Electrical and Electronics Engineering combined with exceptional skills in supplier relationship management, cost analysis, and quality assurance. Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Strategic Procurement Engineer will work closely with engineering, production, and quality control teams to ensure the seamless integration of sourced components into our innovative products.

Key Responsibilities:

• Research, build relationships and evaluate new suppliers for critical components, including electrical and electronic parts.
• Negotiate pricing, contracts, and terms to achieve cost-saving goals while maintaining quality standards.
• Conduct performance evaluations on a supplier basis and conduct regular quality assurance checks to ensure compliance with specifications and timelines.
• Collaborate with R&D, Production and Quality departments to understand component requirements and recommend cost-effective procurement options.
• Perform cost-benefit analysis and market research to follow trends and new technologies for parts and materials.
• Build and maintain an optimized inventory strategy to reduce costs and mitigate supply chain disruptions.
• Ensure all sourced components comply with industry standards, certifications, and safety requirements.
• Develop a supplier database and lead risk management initiatives to safeguard critical supply lines.
• Monitor procurement KPIs and develop improvement strategies to enhance supply chain efficiency.
• Support new product development (NPD) initiatives by coordinating with R&D and suppliers.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
• Proven experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, or supply chain management within the manufacturing or electronics industry.
• Strong knowledge of electronic components, their specifications, and performance parameters.
• Excellent negotiation and vendor management skills.
• Analytical mindset with the ability to perform cost analyses and process improvement initiatives.
• Familiarity with procurement software and ERP systems is an advantage.
• Exceptional communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Good level of English speaking and writing.
