IT Director

Istanbul Arel University is looking for an experienced IT Director to oversee all IT functions.

JOB SUMMARY

• Responsible for providing leadership and management to the units of the Information Technologies Office and system-wide planning, management, security, and coordination of the technology resources of the University.
• Carries out establishment, management, development, support and maintenance activities of necessary technical infrastructure and superstructure to ensure all units, personnel and students benefit from IT and its services at the highest level.
• Takes measures to increase the satisfaction level of IT services provided to all units, personnel and students and carries out necessary studies.

KEY REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering departments (preferably Computer, Electrical/Electronical, Mathematical, Industrial Engineering or related areas),
• Proven experience as IT director or similar role,
• At least 10 years of experience in IT processes,
• Excellent organizational and leadership skills,
• Project management skills and experience,
• Solid holistic technical IT knowledge,
• Experience in controlling information technology budget,
• Knowledge of the academic and administrative functions of a university,
• Knowledge of ITIL, ISO (9001, 22301, 27001) and KVKK,
• Knowledge of compliance and audit requirements (COBIT),
• Advance command of verbal and written English,
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Report to the General Secretary, manage personnel and business processes of the IT Office by ensuring the optimal efficiency in accordance with strategic targets and policies of the university,
• Devise and establish IT policies and systems to support the implementation of strategies set by upper management,
• Implement and manage all IT functions and services, according to policies of the University,
• Responsible for the management of the enterprise resource planning system, learning management system, instructional technologies, server and storage operations, networking infrastructure, application software development, information security, technical training, user support services and the University’s computer labs,
• Establish Technology-related policies, regulations, guidelines and processes to safeguard data integrity and governance,
• Ensure that new applications and technologies are compatible with existing systems and are appropriately integrated into the University's enterprise architecture,
• Policies development regarding information technology services for all units, personnel and students,
• Analyze the business requirements of all departments to determine their technological needs,
• Inspect the use of technological equipment and software to ensure functionality and efficiency,
• Partner with the business stakeholders to gather requirements and prioritize demands to drive IT initiatives, exploiting new and emerging technologies.
• Ensure that disaster recovery activities are established and carried out in accordance with the policies of the University,
• Manage Service Providers' and Outsourcing Companies’ Contracts, SLAs and KPIs,
• Responsible for IT budget management from planning to execution of IT operations.
